Russian Championship 1994, Third League, Third Zone

The rise of our team became with that season. The direction decided to buy some new players, because they weren’t glad to be the tens team in the Championship. Three players stayed in Saturn. The others ones were discharged. V. Tukulmin became a Torgmash Head Coach. He took A. Drozdov, A. Zuikin and S. Andrushin. V. Nenastin and S. Knyazev went to Smena-Ronika. V. Kolesnikov (Torpedo-MKB), I. Nikitin (Spartak Shelkovo), V. Gusev (Meteor) left our team, too. V. Matveev and V. Bobrov finished their careers. A. Vikulov, S. Samokhvalov and S. Kobelskiy played for team of Moscow.

A lot of new players were bought. Coaches Y. Gavrilov and V. Chugrashin, footballers N. Kulishenko, E. Levin, A. Kazakov, A. Apatov, A. Shibaev (everybody was from Interros) arrived at Saturn. A. Engurazov, I. Fetisov (both – Victor-Gigant), A. Drobeshkin and A. Mironov (both - Mosenergo), V. Abramov (CSKA-2), V. Kovac (Bibrikh, Germany), R. Gallakberov (Tatrin Preshov, Slovakia), E. Rybin (Taltov 1913, Germany), Y. Tatarkin (FC Trasko), M. Mariushkin (Lokomotiv - reserve), S. Savchenko (AMMAKOM Kishinev, Moldavia), M. Zubchuk (Tigina Bendery, Moldavia).

The forwards of experience Y. Bykov appeared in Saturn after the first lap of the championship. He was from Rossiya-Monolit. S. Bodak who was disqualified didn’t go away – he was in the team during the season.

Those changes in the squad were good for us. Saturn played not bad in spring – they lost only the game against Mosenergo – 1:3. The other ones were won or drawn: Gigant 1:0 and 2:1, Torgmash 3:3, FC Trasko 1:1, Cosmos 3:1, FC Orekhovo 4:0, Khimik (Uvarovo) 2:1, Mashinostroitel 3:3 and 6:0, Arsenal 2:1, Dinamo-reserve 6:6, Torpedo-reserve 3:0.

Saturn played fantastically losing only three matches. Saturn beat Spartak (Shelkovo) who were the main rival of our team on 26^th October. So Saturn could play in the Second League next season.
